Project One Research and Progress:
I began this project with a word list of several different types of animals. I then wrote what I wanted the text to be on this particular page in an area next to the first set of thumbnails. The first set of thumbnails were more for me to eliminate potential animal choices. (Will upload the imagery for this ASAP)
Next, after I had decided on a pair of animals (the hip-hoppin' hippo and and bird), I began coming up with compositions that would best utilize the page space.
Along with these thumbnails, I started researching basic imagery of the two animals as well as other types of animal-book spreads for ideas on page placement as well as treatment of text.

After I had picked a decent thumbnail, I began the sketching process:
This phase is super messy! I kind of like the look, though!
I use tracing paper so that I can go over the messy stage with tighter lines.
